A Research Synthesis of Theory of Mind for Asperger Syndrome

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to synthesize findings of Theory of Mind(ToM) for Asperger Syndrome. For the purpose, a total of 20 research studies published between 1996 and 2011 in Korea and in abroad were analyzed in terms of a) themes, b) types, c) materials, d) methodologies, e) results of the articles. The results of the present study were as follows. The mostly themes were comparison study of the ability on Asperger Syndrome group and controlled group, types were preliminary study of the based on ToM. The mostly materials of study were revised ToM task, methodologies were adults of male and female(participants), 40-68 person(size of group), and false belief, strange stories(intervention). In addition to 2 experimental studies were analyzed and summarized of their effects. Based on the results, the implication were discussed and future study issues were recommended.
